For the past three years, I’ve had the incredible privilege of serving as a Commissioner on the Cornelius Parks and Recreation Commission. From navigating strategic planning meetings to being the voice of my community, it’s a thrilling civic position that I’m eager to share with you.

I’ve always been a big fan of town events, so when I noticed that there was a need for additional commissoners on the Parks & Rec board, I applied for the role and quickly got to work when appointed in 2021. 

I was surprised at how involved the position was! From voting on and helping make important decisions that would impact the Town of Cornelius for years to come to attending numerous special events through out the year, this role has allowed me to be a voice of the citizens in my town.  

I currently serve on the Strategic Planning and Finance Committees, and am Chair of the Public Awareness Committee. I’m living the Leslie Knope dream right here in Cornelius!

One of my proudest achievements as a commissioner is the development and production of the Year of the Trail video, garnering widespread recognition and even earning airtime on PBS NC Weekend. The video was produced by one of our past client partners here at Style Perfect Events, GarlandBurks Creative Marketing and we couldn’t be more proud of the work they’re creating for muncipalities in the region.
